So I know you’ve all been waiting for this! And I’m reallyyyy sorry…I’ve been so busy and lazy xD but here it finally issss!! My U of A blog! ^_^ *claps*
So rather than recapping every single day of my first few months away from home, I’ll just give you guys a run down of how my week usually goes!
Oh yeah, my faculty is the faculty of ALES (Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences). x)!
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: Wake up at 8:15am (used to be 8am, before I started getting lazy xD), brush teeth, change, eat breakfast in my room (usually some bread thing and a glass of milk!) and walk to first class (which is a block away and across the street). First class: ALES 204 - Communication Theory and Practice 9:00am - 9:50am. This class is all about communication, no midterms or final!! Woo!! Then I walk back to dorm after and clean up and stuff for an hour xP. Then I have lunch with a friend from 11:00am - 1:00pm =). Then we have ENG 122 - Texts and Contexts (the class is sooo small, 40 people!!!) from 1:00pm - 1:50pm. Then I rush to ECON 102 - Intro to Macroeconomics because I have it from 2:00pm - 2:50pm and it’s kinda far away xD. Then I usually go to my friends Astronomy class to sit in and listen (it's quite interesting!). Then after, I just head back to dorm and do homework and stuff xD. That’s about it! Oh, and I go to fellowship on Fridays =D I get a ride to and from church!
Tuesday/Thursday: Wake up at 7:00am (not 7:15am!) and do usual morning stuff, then I RUSH to class because it takes me 20mins to get there cuz it’s on the other side of campus…and I have 2 classes back to back there xD. So I’m there from 8:00am - 9:20am (NUTR 100 - Nutrition and Well-being) and 9:30am - 10:50am (ECON 101 - Introduction to Microeconomics). After I just take transit to some mall and walk around xP, or sometimes go back to my dorm and sleep! Then I come back for ALES 204 lab at 2:00pm - 3:50pm (only on Tuesdays). The lab is all about doing speeches @_@”… then after I go back to dorm and do homework and stuff =).
Saturday/Sunday: Usually go over to my friend’s house on one of those days. I go to church on Sundays! =) I have to bus a little, to a mall called Westmount, then I get picked up and get driven the rest of the way! =)! Then I just do homework for the rest of the day xP and game!
My Dorm: So currently, I am living in room 232, Mackenzie Hall (otherwise known as 2 Mac). My floor is also the Science/ALES Cohort Floor. There are 4 towers of residence at U of A and they are Henday Hall (known as the “party tower”), Mackenzie Hall, Kelsey Hall, and Schaffer Hall (only open for 2nd years+). Right now, it’s dodgeball season and it’s pretty popular on residence. Each floor of each hall has their own team, and I’m on the 2 Mac team! Dodgeball is really epic…haha…it’s not like elementary/high school at all! The balls are like machine guns shooting at you @_@” I will get pictures if I can! Cuz even spectators get hit by the balls sometimes xD. So we play 5 games, 10mins each!

The balls! And the white ball is called the “Shame Ball” cuz it’s almost impossible to get hit by it, since it falls so slowly (made of foam!) so if you get hit, it’s embarrassing and you have to sit in the middle of the circle for the whole game x) punishment!

The Weather: So I'm sure everyone wants to know about the weather here... xD well it began to get really cold last week, or 2 weeks ago xP. It's been -25 for the past couple of days... excluding windchill. Some days there are huge windchills, so that makes the weather -35 haha. Hopefully it won't get any colder, but I know it will. =(
